One of my favorite parts about living in NYC is seeing all the street style firsthand; every day on the streets, around my office, running errands, etc. It’s both inspiring and educating for me.Lately, I’ve seen a lot of this shirting trend going on. All it basically is is any sort of dramatic twist/interesting addition to the classic button-down blouse (can be as simple as an oversized silhouette to an intricate embroidered design to a giant asymmetrical ruffle).
These pieces are especially great for the office since they have professional roots. I like to pair them with anything more casual to tone them down a little – here I’ve paired them with my bright fray-edged jeans. I also think a leather legging/pant would look amazing, or any sort of ladylike skirt too. It’s always fun when something so classic and timeless gets a refresh!
