The 5 Spring Trends I’ll Be Wearing this Season:

1. basecall cap
Believe it or not but basecall caps are having a moment this season! I’ve always loved the look of a plain black baseball cap… feels casual yet upscale (probably because it’s a popular celeb style). And with the continuous rise of athleisure, this honestly shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. Personally my favorite way to wear it is with hair down – feels less sporty and more girly.
2. wide leg jeans
This is my number one favorite trend this season. TBH I love any style of wide leg jeans and pants BUT this season I think a full-length style (like a 32-inch inseam) is what feels the most fresh. And, don’t get me wrong, I love a good cropped style (most of my jeans are cropped and it is still very on-trend), but I’m excited to see a non-crop style finally have a moment.
3. tie dye
Tie dye is taking the fashion world by storm right now! I’m definitely here for it but more-so in the casual realm than anything else. I picked up a sweatshirt from Aerie a couple weeks back (and btw it has quickly become my favorite, sold out now though) and I absolutely love how it makes a plain sweatshirt a little more fun. But as far as in the workplace or in a more elevated capacity, I still have yet to see something I really like. The only exception where I’ve seen it work IMO is as resort wear. For a vacation, a tie dye slip dress or skirt is absolutely adorable. However, it does seem like people agree because tye die sweatshirts + sweatsuits are literally everywhere right now!
4. tube tops
Tube tops really take me back 😂I haven’t worn one in, idk, a decade? or more? I do think tube tops can go wrong oh-so-very-quickly, but with the right styling I believe they can appear really chic and effortless. Under a blazer is my preferred style choice, but I also think paired with anything more elevated helps to balance the sort-of risqué and rather youthful silhouette.
5. hot pink
As the years go by, I’m discovering color is not a huge part of my personal style. But it’s always fun to have a pop of something once in a while. Hot pink seems to be a very of-the-moment color right now. I’ve always had an appreciation for fuschia, especially when carefully paired with the perfect red or light pink as a gorgeous color-blocking moment. I already have a suede block heel very similar to this style that I plan to try to incorporate into more outfits this season… but TBD if I’ll actually go through with it 😅Wish me luck!
The 5 Fall Trends I WON’T Be Wearing:

1. crochet
TBH, I actually really love crochet. I think it’s absolutely fabulous as resort wear. It’s just the practicality factor from the sort-of provocative look of having something with so many large holes in it that doesn’t sell me. Also, most crochet styles tend to be body-hugging, which usually isn’t a silhouette I reach for.
2. bermuda shorts
I can’t say I hate a bermuda short either! haha But they really just don’t seem flattering. I just think where they cut the leg makes you look so much shorter than you actually are. Personally, I prefer a culotte length.
3. giant collars
This trend just doesn’t grab me – probably because it’s really not my personal style. I think the big collar trend comes from the fact that 70s styles are coming back (which I fully support), but you just won’t find me in this. Too dramatic for me, maybe?
4. hot pants
I think I’m just too reserved for this style! I love a mini skirt, but hot pants are just too short for me!
5. bra tops
I actually think these are really cool, when styled correctly to elevate them (I LOVE the outfit I featured above with trousers + trench coat). Personally, I just won’t be picking one up because I prefer not to show that much skin and also it’s not work-appropriate, even at the most casual of offices.
