Today I’m sharing my Spring Checklist, which is really just 5 of my favorite upcoming spring 2018 trends to get ahead on. Starting with All Things Green (which you can see I’m sporting above), and then I’ll be talking about, and of course sharing lots of faves to shop, Slingbacks, Woven Handbags, Square Necklines, and Matching Suit Sets.
Ok so how fun is this matching set?! It’s definitely a showstopper, but in a simple, classic, and elegant way. Btw guys – this look is FAB for the office. Wear this to a meeting and guaranteed you will be noticed in all the right #girlboss ways. It’s almost like a modern pantsuit (sans jacket), and it’s on-trend yet feels classic (a very hard thing to achieve and this does it effortlessly). It’s also super flattering for any body type since you tie the top at the waist. Plus, these pieces on their own are gorgeous as well (I actually have the top in black, too!). Pair the top with skinnies and flats; dress the pants down by tucking in a plain white tee and throwing on some chic sneakers.
Read on for my 2018 Spring Checklist, featuring my top five trends for the season!
1. all things green
I have been loooving hunter green, especially for spring! I really like how well it pairs with a pale pink and other more traditionally-spring pastel hues. And for my skin tone/coloring specifically, it is very flattering. But honestly, among all the greens out there, hunter is definitely the most versatile as far as various skin tones go. And some can some off really dark, almost a green-black, which is a nice surprise when people realize it’s actually green. But besides hunter/darker greens, any and all greens are definitely going to big this spring. Shop some faves below and get yo’ green on!
2. slingbacks
Ok so if we want to get super trendy, it’s the slingback kitten(most likely pointed) heel that is the hot item right now. I can definitely appreciate this trend, but it’s just not my style at all – potentially just too grandma-esque? Not sure, but I am loving the slingback style, and think there are plenty of other slingback styles that feel fresh for this season. Shop some below!
3. woven handbags
These are just so fun. Carry one and you’ll feel so vacation-y – never say no to island vibes! My favorite style is the circle crossbody, but they are making so many different shapes with cool leather elements or pom-pom detailing. Shop all of that and more below!!
4. a square neckline
Square up this season with a neckline that really goes back ages. Serious vintage vibes with this trend! It feels very 90s to me (especially with some spaghetti straps), but this neckline has roots in the Renaissance period. It’s a very flattering (and a little more ladylike) way to show a bit more skin or décolletage. But a higher square-neck is also very classic and beautiful. Shop some square faves below!
5. matching suit sets
A total #girlboss trend. It definitely is not a coincidence that suit sets are coming back as strong as the rise of feminism is. I’m a huge fan of matchy-matchy so a matching suit set is a dream. My office is ridiculously casual so I’ll just stick with my matching green set above, but shop some favorite pantsuits below! These are also great because they are equally fab paired together and separately.
