Gifts that Support Small Businesses
1. GLDN, most pieces range from around $25-$60
I discovered this little shop on Etsy many many years ago and all the people I’ve introduced to it along the way always come back to me and say WOW what an amazing business!! They are my go-to when I’m wanting something dainty and gold, but affordable. Most pieces are gold-filled or sterling silver so the quality is amazing for the price. My most recent purchase from them is their Mariko bracelet – it would make such a great gift to honestly anyone!
FYI – they are running a sale right now: Use code THISISIT for 15% off orders under $150 | Use code THISISIT20 for 20% off orders over $150
2. Jane Dottie Vintage, scrunchies range from around $12-$32
They have a lot of great vintage accessories but what I love most is their scrunchies! These would make such a cool stocking stuffer or gift you give all your girlfriends – get a scrunchie that matches their style/personality to a T! They have tons of great options and you can choose what size you want each to be as well.
3. Sily Candle Co, candles range from around $17-$23
This is probably my favorite and most unique gift idea this year! I discovered this account on Instagram and the owner is truly such a sweetheart 😊 She sources cans from all over and they are made-to-order, so when you order your can you get to choose what scent the wax will be 🙌
I ordered one a few weeks ago and am OBSESSED! Definitely will be ordering more once I’m in my own apartment again and have places to put these dope candles. But truly I think it makes such a unique gift! You can even send your own can into her – so for all your Diet Coke or La Croix-obsessed besties, you could get them their very own candle inside their favorite beverage!
Plus, they use 100% organic soy wax and have 70+ hour burn time!
4. Inslee Farris Art, calendars start at $58
I’ve gotten one of these for myself and my mom for Christmas for the last several years! Inslee is so talented and probably my favorite artist. I love supporting her and can’t wait for the 1st of each month to be able to switch over to the next design (you’ve probably seen me do it on Instagram if you follow me!). It’s such a gorgeous addition to any desktop. Calendars alone are $58, or you can get them with a cute gold easel stand for $68.
5. Freckle + Chain, mask chains start at $20
The shop has lots of cute giftable things, but I think the most unique is the mask chains. They have both beaded and gold styles (with one silver style coming soon, and potentially some more geared for men… stay tuned!) that I think anyone would appreciate and find super useful during these crazy times. Plus, every chain comes in a cute, very giftable canvas bag 🙌
Disclaimer: This is my own personal shop that I started a few months ago, mostly due to boredom from being temporarily unemployed 😆 Although its definitely been such a fulfilling and fun passion project, and something I will be continuing even though I do have a fulltime job again, woohoo!!
6. KNC Beauty, eye and lip patches are $25 for pack of 5 (you can also shop these at Sephora)
These are a great stocking stuffer or gift for all your girlfriends. AND it’s black and woman-owned – YAS! Adorable packaging and such a fun little self-care treat for anyone.
7. Olive & June, gift sets start range from around $16-$100
These are THE best polishes on the market – trust me I’ve tried it ALL! If you know me, you know I’m a bit of a nail connoisseur and have been doing my nails the “right” way since high school (cut, shape, buff, base coat, two coats of color, top coat).
They also have so many good colors that are more unique than the average nail hue. I have their Mani System and absolutely love every single product in that box – I guarantee it will completely change your at-home mani game. Their Pedi System is at the very top of my Christmas list this year, I can’t wait to use!
FYI – they are running a sale right now: Use code MAGIC25 for 25% off all orders and free shipping on any orders $20+
8. Have a Nice Day, everything under $50
I just discovered this little NYC-based online shop a few weeks ago and I am OBSESSED. Everything is so cute and deff gives me a lot of inspo for my own shop, Freckle + Chain. She sells the cutest tech accessories, keychains, mugs, stickers, apparel, and prints.
9. Millie Illustrate, holiday cards $14.52 for a pack of 6 or $9.61 for a pack of 3
There are tons of adorable illustrators on Etsy selling unique holiday cards you wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else, but Millie Illustrate’s are my personal faves! (love her prints, too!)
She has two holiday card sets, one with gorgeous winter scenes and one with some cute holiday dogs!
10. Katie Creative Co, $15 for set of 24 gift tags
Another Etsy illustrator – Katie Creative Co makes tons of adorable things but I LOVE her Christmas gift tags this year! Such a perfectly unique addition to any gift wrapping. AND you support a small business 👌
