The temps are really dropping and, as depressed as I am that summer is over, I am pretty excited to start wearing and styling my favorite summer-to-fall transition pieces! Shop my top five below.
1. Midi Dress
The perfect length to keep the majority of your body covered but still breezy enough to not be too hot and show a little leg without the hassle of tights/pantyhose. A midi dress is one of the most versatile pieces you can own. Pair it with booties and a light/medium jacket or layer it over a turtleneck when those summer temps start to drop. (+ who doesn’t looooove a good midi slip dress?!)
2. Denim Jacket
Probably the most obvious to include for this list. It’s got summer-y vibes but by being thicker provides more warmth than most lighter jackets. Plus, this season everyones loving the all-denim look. Just make sure your denim (and/or chambray) pieces are quite a bit different in washes and throw it all on! I love adding these shoes to my all-denim ensembles just to be that extra.
3. Loafer Slides
Slides are just so hot right now, so comfy, and so easy! If you’re looking to get a pair now, I would definitely go for a closed-toe style like the loafer slides. They seriously go with anything and really amp up more casual looks. There’s also tons of fun patterns/embellished ones right now. I personally would go for a more versatile black or maybe silver style, but I’ve included my favorite options of both below.
4. Kimono
Long, lightweight, and flowy? What more could you want for an end-of-summer, beginning-of-fall piece?! I’ve never been a huge fan of kimonos in the past because I’m not big on patterns. But with the embellishment trend holding strong, there are tons of pretty, less busy, embellished options for kimonos out there. Shop my faves below.
5. Ankle Booties
Another obvious, do I even need to explain? Wear these with… seriously anything. Shop my fave booties below. However I will say don’t let this deter you from sporting a taller boot style in these warmer times.
