The star of this post are my latest splurge, and latest love of my closet – the Stuart Weitzman 5050 over-the-knee boots in black suede. I’d been wanting these boots for quite literally years (like 3 years ago but who’s counting…) Well I bit the bullet and finally snagged them! And the only reason I could ever spend this much on an item is if I’m 100% they are timeless – hence the Season Staple.
This style became really popular a few years ago and I snagged a cheap pair from Urban Outfitters around that time, but was holding out to get a nice pair for fear of the style going on the outs (as we’ve seen happen recently with riding boots; it’s all about over-the-knee or near-the-ankle for boot height now). But they’ve held out and I believe have officially become a timeless look. And I’m really glad to still have those cheap Urban ones because they’re perfect for hitting the bars and not having to worry what happens to them.
Over-the-knee boots are super versatile. My favorite pairing is with a skirt or dress that hits at just the right spot to peek a bit of skin between the end of the dress and the beginning of the boot. But they also look incredible with jeans, and are an especially fantastic purchase for anyone with a good number of skinny jeans (like I do). They look amazing with any form-fitting jean, and make your legs look incredible!

If you snag a suede or faux-suede style, that can give any outfit a luxe upgrade. And if you snag a leather/faux-leather pair, that can give any outfit a badass and edgy twist. They’re truly a season staple that you are going to wear time and time again, a perfect piece to add to your colder-months arsenal!
The Stuart Weitzman options are, in my opinion, the best on the market for quality, fit, and simplicity. But I linked many options below that I believe are right for their respectable price points. Marc Fisher is a brand that makes a lot of great, more affordable options – they have become a new favorite of mine for shoes. I linked a few of those below as well (and I own these in grey suede that I got last season).
