Fall is always all about texture so there’s really no better time to talk about one of my favorite (and I think underrated) textures – ostrich effect/pattern. Now this might just be because I’m admittedly overly obsessed with organic spots and this is basically the texture form of that. But real ostrich leather has always been popular in the high fashion realm (pretty much any fashion house that does handbags has done ostrich), it’s just insanely expensive. Not sure if I’ve ever actually been in the presence of real ostrich leather, but I think the faux effect is still really beautiful and chic, and doesn’t read cheap to me at all despite it being fake (that really just depends on the actual quality of the product).
The bag I have here is real (and great quality) leather with a faux ostrich skin texture. It is from a lovely small handbag start-up Little E NYC. They create luxe handbags at an affordable price point. Each bag is made in limited editions so only one style is offered until it sells out and then the next style is released – a very unique concept! So if you’re in love with this gorgeous blue bag as much as I am, don’t wait – snag it here.
I paired it with a sort of French-inspired ensemble – black culottes + b/w striped tee. A simple outfit to bring out this beautiful bag’s texture and color. Scroll below to shop some of my ostrich faves for fall!
