The 5 Fall Trends I’ll Be Wearing this Season:
1. embossed croc
Loooove this texture, especially on accessories! It just feels so luxe and expensive.
2. the oversized blazer
A classic silhouette that can be styled so many different ways: belt it + (leather) leggings + ankle bootie; graphic tee + boyfriend jeans + pointed-toe flats; plain white tee + skinny jeans + block heels; plain black tee + layered gold jewelry + black pants + sneakers… and so forth.
3. the cardigan
The fall trend you probably already have buried in your closet… or maybe you already keep one at your desk at work. All different styles are “in,” so whether you prefer the tighter, ribbed style or a chunkier knit style – you’ll be looking fresh either way!
4. the knee-high boot
I prefer these with any length dresses/skirts – great with a shorter style or overlapped under a midi length! Also fab over a pair of skinny jeans paired with an oversized turtleneck (front-tucked). I just ordered these in brown (toasted coconut/coconut suede)… fingers crossed they fit, are comfy, and as pretty as they look online. Sharing the others I was considering before I pulled the trigger on a pair.
5. sweater dresses + sets
I’m still on the search for a flattering style – it’s a bit hard since they tend to really hug the body. Sharing a few below that I currently have my eye on!
The 5 Fall Trends I WON’T Be Wearing:
1. overwear
This stuff just really isn’t my vibe – it’s more for a maximalist that really wants to stand out in any room and be trendy AF. This trend won’t last – guaranteed.
2. all-leather outfit
Don’t get me wrong, I can definitely appreciate an all-leather look… it’s just not practical! It’s not comfy and therefore I won’t be wearing it.
3. pistachio
This color is the IT color this season… and you won’t find me in it. Don’t get me wrong, the color is fine – personally not a huuuge fan of greens so there’s that. I can just tell this will be one of the more shorter-lived trends.
4. oversized bags
Honestly these just look ridiculous, aren’t flattering at all, and will never be classic. FYI: based on the most recent NYFW (Sept 2019), totes are definitely back in, so go for one of those instead… way more practical.
5. neon
Again, just not flattering (especially for my skin tone). Too abrasive for me, even as an accent color in an ensemble.
