There really isn’t a trick to perfecting the wing, just practice practice practice – however I do have a couple tips:
1. When drawing the line, make sure you go along with the curvature of your eye; it helps to trace the curve below the eye in the air and then immediately make the stroke following that line.
2. Find the right brush type that works best for you – I personally prefer the felt tip of Kat Von D’s liquid liner. You can also try using a gel liner and then experiment with either an angled liner brush or a bent eyeliner brush (these brushes have bristles and will glide a bit easier). Another even easier option is a creamy pencil (the downside is it’s more likely to smear). It’s all just your preference!
As you may have already figured out, I have a huge affinity for the color blue. I actually believe it is the best color, but that’s probably just my strawberry-blonde hair, blue eyes, and cool-toned skin persuading me – who knows! But all in all, I believe blue is wearable for tones of every kind. My favorite hue for summer liner is a bright cobalt blue, but I’m also crazy about a periwinkle (especially on someone really fair-skinned or really dark-skinned) or a deep navy. I used the Kat Von D ink liner in Nerdrum (included below), but I’ve linked some other options as well!
