Winter can be tough on our skin, hair, and (especially for me) lips. The extremely low temps + crazy wind gusts can really do quite a number! I’m sharing all my favorite picks to help you say goodbye to thirsty skin, chapped lips, and frizzy/dry hair to help you hate the toughest season a little less 😉 + there’s a giveaway of one of these favorites below!
- ShiKai Shower Gel is not only the most moisturizing, best-smelling, gentle formula I’ve ever used but it also cured my eczema. Yes it’s true! I’d been using Dove Sensitive Skin Body Wash (which I still highly recommend; makes your skin super soft) pretty much my whole life until my coworker recommended this product for my eczema since it totally cleared hers – and sure enough it did the same for me! And just the way that it can help with eczema, it can really help a lot with dry skin that most of us struggle with during winter. I prefer the light, refreshing coconut scent, but they have a few scents to choose from (my coworker really likes the Sandalwood). I get mine from Whole Foods so if you shop there definitely pick one up next time! But I’ve linked it above to Amazon so you can easily order it as well.
- JJ Young Pore Perfecting Multi Cream – Put this fast-absorbing cream on after you wash your face and it both tones and moisturizes. I love this because I can skip the toner which usually dries out my face (even the moisturizing ones). It also smells amazing which is always a plus! Find it at CVS, I think it’s exclusively sold there. Interested? Good news – I’m hosting a giveaway for one lucky winner to receive this amazing cream, enter at the bottom of this post or here. Giveaway ends at 11:59 pm on Sunday, January 21.
- Julep Hydrating Cleansing Oil – If you’re looking for a cleanser that will absolutely not dry out your face but will also not make it breakout (don’t let “oil” scare you!), this cleanser is perfect for you. And if you need to shed off any dry or flaky skin, try using this cleanser with Julep’s Charcoal Konjac Sponge for a gentle, all-natural exfoliator.
- Alert! Alert! It’s First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask and it is my HOLY GRAIL product for winter/dry skin. If you are looking for something quick, simple, affordable, and one-time-use results – here’s your product! The formula feels a little funky since it has real oatmeal pieces in it, but it’s actually incredibly soothing on the face immediately after you put it on. It’s so gentle and works in only 10 minutes! At $24, it’s worth every penny. Get it today if you’re suffering this winter, you won’t regret it.
- I’ve tried a lot of moisturizing masks and Too Cool For School’s Hydration Egg Cream Mask is truly the only one that has actually left my skin feeling moisturized. Snag it for only $6 at your local Sephora.
- It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-in has been my all-time favorite hair product for several years now. I never travel without it and looove its scent. I use it for detangling and to leave an overall lightweight moisture to my hair after showering. Just apply a little to your ends and you’ll leave the house with silky, smooth locks. You can find it at Target and at most pharmacies that also sell the nicer hair product lines.
- MOROCCANOIL Restorative Hair Mask will solve all your dry, brittle hair problems in just one 5-minute use! I will admit it’s pricey but it’s worth every penny and the jar will last you awhile since a little goes a long way.
- Verb Ghost Oil will tame your frizzy hair in a snap. This weightless hair oil smooths frizz and leaves hair with a nice shiny finish (without any unwanted greasiness).
- Bite Beauty Agave Mask – This lip mask will help your crusty-crusts become luscious lips in literally one use. This definitely is not a glorified lip balm – I promise!
- Chapstick Total Hydration Lip Scrub – A good lip scrub is an essential to get your lips prepped for any lip product. For a product you’ll probably only use once in a while, I’ve never found it necessary to get a pricey lip exfoliator, so this $5 one works great for me!
- The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is probably more in that realm of a glorified lip balm but I just really love it. The smell is delicious and it just feels so so smooth on my lips, it’s my favorite thing to do right before bed. Even though it’s called a “sleeping mask,” it just acts as a normal balm – you can apply it throughout the day, at night, whenever you want.
Wishing you the smoothest skin, silkiest hair, and luscious lips this snowy season!
